Today is a huge holiday in one country, that most Americans (unsurprisingly) don’t know about. Forty years since the end of the war in Vietnam, the Vietnamese national holiday known as “Liberation Day”, when the US-supported South Vietnam regime surrendered to People’s Army on April 30, 1975. For Vietnamese this is the end of 30 years of war that 3 million lives claimed, the devastation of nearly the entire country and still covered with unexploded landmines, and nearly half the rural population in the south into refugees. I found this https://leminhkhai.files.wordpress.com/2015/01/heroes.jpg today on a blog I was reading by a man who I think is a professor of history in Vietnam. It’s not a particularly new phenomenon- creating history books with cartoon characters to interest the young goes back quite a ways. I just thought the colorful picture was really funny and, given the trends in anime fandom I wouldn’t be surprised if this book found its way into the hands of many people from all around the world just for the pictures- the context of Vietnamese historical heroes is about the newest (and most outrageous) context that manga could be used in. 2015: That number seems so unusually weird to be a year, it’s so high, I remember when you said the year as “Nineteen…” something, and felt like it would be that way forever. I fellow deviants have a lot planned this year, so even though I don’t have many watchers I give an update and know I won’t write another journal entry for months anyway. The thread I was talking to you on is now closed, so I'm leaving my reply here:
It was 4:30 AM and I was tried, give me a break. The points I made were valid, regardless.
I never said anything about it being attractive, or ugly man. I could care less either way, just because someone is pretty doesn't give them the right to talk to me is if I'm cheap. If I wanted to get with someone I'd try getting to know them a bit, and being sexual from the start is NOT how you do that 99.9% of the time.
People who base relationships purely off sex, hardly ever work out (with good reason - they didn't get to know who they jumped in the sack with). Sure looks help (male or female), but it matters if you treat a potential partener with respect or not. And again being sexual from the start is not respecting, in most cases.
